Day 3: The Eclipse Card

I don't know if I should tell you this, but I have a complete set of Moon Cards.
Isn't that fascinating?
You know you're very lucky I even accepted this meeting.
You managed to intrigue me. As one of the few Moon Readers in the Sapphire Syndicate
you'll find I'm not easily intrigued. Are you blushing? I think you are, it's adorable.
I wonder if I can make you blush again.
Let's pull a card for fun, shall we?
The Eclipse Card
Empowered Rivals, Obscured Talents, Thwarted Goals,
Powerful Enemies Abound, Ignorant of Imminent Dangers,
Incompatible Evolutions
Just look at the mess you've made. You didn't mean to by any means but somehow you've
managed to hurt those around you. Unfortunately, you're oblivious to just how serious
this situation really is. Or is that the other way around? Someone you overlooked
has overtaken you in prestige, ability, or advancement. Reality sets in and no matter
what side of the coin you fall on - you won't like the outcome.
The Eclipse Card precedes a terrible realization,
but it's already too late to avert this truth.
You must refocus your energies or all is lost.
Hmph. I keep forgetting this card is in the deck.
The Syndicate is never overshadowed and we never make enemies.
Just friends, new friends like you. The lucky one who gets to have this meeting with me.
I know you feel honored.
Now, about the origin of the Moon Cards. I'm about to tell you
something utterly outrageous and you're going to love it.
Come close, the original Moon Cards were based on the
badges of the Old World scientists as they went into hiding.
Durable and emotive - each badge depicted the emblem of a company!
Journey was a start-up corporation,
Moonbow specialized in product development,
Eclipse was a vulture capitalist firm. Isn't that funny? It was all business.
In the end everything is just business.
Oh, your tea is getting cold. Let me pour you another cup.
